Sewage treatment and domestic water treatment are no stranger to everyone. Why are there so many water treatment systems? In addition to water pollution, another reason is the waste of large amounts of water resources.
Water waste is just as big a problem as plastic waste. Do you know only 1 percent of the Earth’s water is actually drinkable? Fresh and drinkable water isn’t inexhaustible. That’s why it’s so incredibly important to reduce water waste in all areas of our life.
Moreover, conserving water is simply better for the environment. It reduces water treatment costs, reduces the amount of energy used to treat, pump, and heat water, and diverts less water from our bays, rivers, and estuaries, which protects our ecosystems.
Now you know the importance of reduce water waste, but how?
Reduce your shower time and try to avoid baths when you can. Most baths use 35-50 gallons of water, but showers can use only about 25, especially if you have a low-flow shower head. If you don’t have one, consider buying one. A new head is a great way to revamp your whole shower routine. Even the kids may enjoy it.
Unless something is seriously burnt on, try not to pre-rinse. It is an enormous waste of water, and most dishwashers are powerful enough that there’s no need to pre-rinse. Try to use the dishwasher when you can. It actually uses less water per dish than hand-washing, which means it’s good for the environment.
Don’t forget to check the outdoor faucets and pipes too. It is easier to notice an indoor water leakage than an outdoor one. Keep an eye on them, and have a check at least every six months. At the same time, keep an eye on your water bill. If you notice that it’s gone up, you might have a leakage somewhere.
I know, sometimes you just don’t want to get yourself up and do the laundry yourself even if it is just a pair of socks. However, you should fill the basket before you start to wash the clothes in washers. just add in some stuff that can take a rougher washing. Making sure that you have a full load each time which means that chores go faster, detergent gets used more effectively and you’ll never run out of clean underwear again.
Add some food coloring to the tank before you go to bed. When you use it in the morning, see if any of the colored water has leaked into the bowl. If so, it’s a hidden leak that should be fixed.
Just think about how long you leave the water running while you brush your teeth. Just turn it off! Additionally, make sure you don’t have a leaky sink.
It’s not always a feasible goal to stop wasting water entirely. However, you can cut down drastically by saving and reusing the water. Instead of letting the water run, capture some of it. Then through water purification systems, such as ozone water treatment, some domestic water can be reused to improve water recycling efficiency.
